The only fair way to evaluate is to look at the coach's entire tenure, and evaluate based on that. Not take a round number and use that. It's a completely weak argument.
For the record, I'm ambivalent if Ruff stays or goes at this point. Same for Regier. But at least make objective arguments for that, not twist the facts to try and improve your position.

1. It is fair to judge Ruff based on a select time period if your thesis is his message has grown stale, or he's become too stagnant in his imposition of the system, or he doesn't develop young players well (by nature a multi-year process).
2. It is especially fair to judge Regier based on the success of recent years, since it takes a few years for the team to bear his imprint (and now the team is completely his baby).
