If Quick had a 6 000 000$ it could mean Penner wasnt there, it would not be a big deal.
It could also mean LA cant afford Brown & Mitchell, and that would hurt a lot.
What are you even talking about? Dean has had zero cap issues since he was hired in LA. He knows what he is doing and the Kings can ice the exact same team that just won the cup if he decides to re-sign Penner. Quick is signed for $1.8 million next season no matter what his extension ends up being. 2013-14 is when his new contract would kick in and we all have no idea what the cap will look like for 2013-14. It's useless to speculate who the Kings are going to lose.
Unless the cap falls drastically
there isn't a salary roll back, the Kings will have zero cap issues with Quick at $7 million per season.
I trust that Dean and his staff knows what he can and can't afford with Quick's extension.
