I don't think it's that high. He drops from 2.25 on his current contract, while the cap goes up, and he was damn good for Montreal on the pk. If he can log heavy minutes there for Nashville, and also be a steadying presence for Ellis (or some other young dman of theirs) on the third pairing, I'm sure they won't mind paying Gill 2m.
