It doesn't actually make much sense when you think about it. If these kids are to go pro, they'll likely have to accommodate to a number of coaches and equal number of differing game plans over their careers. So it'll be the same learning experience all the way through.

Sure, it may help 'em get the ropes after a transfer faster, and some basics should of course be in order. But to drill minutia into their heads considering large quantity of it will be out the window the minute they switch clubs... does truly makes one wonder why such a culture was allowed to develop in the first place.
