Why such an easy concept is so difficult to grasp around here???

If Nash were a UFA and cost us $7+ m, I'd say go for it and he mignt be the 3rd high paid forward on our team (a lot of other teams have a similar structure). In this case Dubi or another player can be traded if needed due to cap issues and bring back more value like help at RD, prospects and / or picks. But losing Dubinsky + Anisimov + prospects + 1st pick, that's HUGE cost in depth that is simply not worth it. Let's say for instance that Sather instead of Nash goes after the next level top 6 UFA forward, Semin for instance. In this case we have a trade off (from the Rangers organizational perspective)

Nash vs. Dubinsky, Semin, Anisimov, Miller, Erixon + 1st.

Who in their right mind would go for such a unfavorable deal?
