Rupp was a bit of a disappointment.
Especially during the first half of the year
He looked too slow out there
After the Classic I thought he was better - off and on.
I thought his play picked up in the playoffs, although he did not play much
He created a bit of space, got the puck up ice a lot and got faceoffs in the opponents end
I liked his physical play at times and was a good Vet guy to have on the ice - more than a couple times as some posters seem to insinuate.
As a fighter, he is no "true heavyweight", but a good guy to have around when things get a bit tense. He can play the game better than pileons such as Boogey and Scott too.
That all being said, now knowing he was not 100% throughout the year pretty much explains the deficiencies in his game
Not possible to perform in the NHL these days not being in top physical shape
He is definitely excused - hope he heals in the offseason and comes back ready to kill
