Well, since you know I'm not the one who came up with the idea, the rest doesn't really matter.

For the sake of conversation, the Blues' need is for a guy who can play top-pairing minutes now. Gormley isn't that guy. Sure, value in a vacuum isn't bad, blah blah blah, whatever, but if "it goes both ways," then you have to address the needs of both teams. And if Phoenix truly doesn't have defensive depth, then it seems odd to trade Gormley away.
