So 1 out of the 5 teams you said didn't make any drastic moves but actually lose Hossa, Ryan Malone, and Bill Guerin, and be replaced with Fedotenko, and Satan.
But hey I guess Brendan Shanahan, Larry Murphy, Ed Belfour, Mike Keane, Brett Hull, Corey Stillman( 2nd on team in points with 80 that year), and Marian Hossa aren't impact acquisitions.
So what happens if Kreider comes in and is that impact player we need? As much as you like that shiny new toy, I'm not convinced that the options currently presented will put us over the top. Also, did any of the acquisitions listed above cost the Cup winning teams core assets? Without looking all that up, I can guarantee at least three of those were either UFAs or non-disruptive deals (i.e. addons, deadline deals or involved draft picks). If you break the bank, do it for Weber. Otherwise, make the smart move (Doan) or wait for a good Playoff run Deadline deal. Sometimes timing is everything....
