The only thing potentially stopping Getzlaf and Perry from getting $100m each as UFAs, like Parise & Suter did, is date that which their current contracts expire. If they had become free agents this offseason, there would be no doubt in my mind about that dollar amount.

With the new CBA coming, who knows how lifetime contracts will be impacted. That's why it would be best for them to avoid the risk and sign an extension this offseason. If they don't sign by the end of Aug, ANA should trade them ASAP, before teams set their rosters for the coming season. The alternative is getting strung along, and then ending up having to take prospects and picks as the main pieces in TDL deals.

The uncertainty with regard to Getzlaf and Perry should prevent a trade of Bobby Ryan until that risk is eliminated, IMO.
