Cam Janssen is known for waving officials away during his fights, pleading with his free hand to let the two combatants settle disputes with their fists.

Four days ago, Janssen wanted to fight. His blood boiled when he watched Rangers forward Ryan Hollweg leave Sergei Brylin crumpled down on the ice.

"I wanted to go after him," Janssen said after Wednesday's optional practice at Codey Arena. "I wanted to lay a beating on him."

Janssen kept his gloves on for two reasons:

1. His Devils were in a tight game and Janssen did not want to give Jaromir Jagr any extra power-play time.

2. He didn't think Hollweg would fight.

"If we do (meet in the playoffs)," Janssen said, "he knows I'm coming. It's going to be clean. It's going to be at the right time."
Janssen will have ZERO to do with the outcome of the series.
