Robinson is a much older man with less energy, less time left being an ass. coach and no ties to the current management crew yet he was undoubtedly the best choice for the job 100%. Not even worth considering any other options, it's that obvious.

JJD is younger, likely much hungrier and despite his young age (relatively speaking 45 is young for a coach) has already accomplished quite a bit in the coaching world being given credit for developing the young rangers D. He's a local guy who could be around for YEARS, much like Laperrière was, or Robinson for the devils.

That's before we even consider that despite his inexperience, JJD could still be better. Anyone who's new could be the best ever. We don't know, and we are hardly qualified enough to judge this from behind our keyboards. I certainly won't pretend to know.

But, again, the true colors of many posters of this board showed brightly in this thread confirming many of my suspicions.
