Just going to throw this out there...
17 minutes a game is basically the baseline threshold for a top 6 player -- at least it was on the Stars last season. Wandell played 17 minutes or more a total of 3 games. He scored a goal and generated 12 shots in those games. So... it's not exactly like he's been given a robust chance.
