1954-1963: Eight times Swedish champion in ice hockey with Djurgården IF.
1952-1966: 14 times World Champion player in hockey, a record.
1952: Olympic bronze medalist, Oslo, Norway.
1953: World Champion, Zurich-Basel, Switzerland.
1956: Olympic fifth place, Cortina, Italy.
1957: a tryout with the Boston Bruins. Was offered a contract, but declined because he could not play for the national team.
1957: World Champion, Moscow, USSR. In addition, nominated as best forward.
1960: Olympic fifth place, Squaw Valley, USA.
1962: World Champion, Colorado Springs, USA. In addition, nominated as best forward.
1964: Olympic silver medalist, Innsbruck, Austria.
1966: Plays in five of seven matches in the World Championships in Ljubljana in March - Tumbas last World Cup.
1967-68: Ends hockey career by playing for Malmo FF in div II South.
1989: Nominated for best Swedish hockey player of all time.

1955: Inventor of the hockey helmet, known as SPAPS helmet.
1957: Started school hockey on TV and the first ice hockey tournament for children, the TV-Puck.
