However people need to stop being negative with him. He's played the minutes given to him, and he has always been used as a plug whenever needed on the 4th line and has shown he has somewhat offensive talent for the NHL. Hasn't established himself, but he has still shown skill.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him get traded and do well in the right environment. But it's clear that between Diaz and Weber, Diaz is the better player overall.

With Weber, he's been a disappointment last year but I think people forget that age can be just as important as NHL experience. Diaz himself was a late bloomer, there's a reason he went undrafted.
Weber still has a decent amount of potential and shows an underrated amount of grit, but his decision making just isn't there and right now doesn't bring what Diaz and Emelin do. Unfortunately if the AHL isn't an option then it's probably a good idea to trade Weber while he has some value, because we already have enough small defensemen to develop, and the Thrower pick potentially makes Weber redundant.
