All that said, Backstrom should spend the entire season with us then will either walk or be offered a 1 year deal at a dramatically reduced salary. Other than as an injury replacement, I don't think we'll see any of Hackett at the NHL level this year.
Agreed. It's the same uneasy feeling that many people had when Roli was traded as well as when Manny was sent packing. Goaltending has never really been a weak link for this team, so the fear is always there of something going wrong when it's shaken up a bit.
