So reading between the lines of quotes (assuming of course Garrioch hasn't pulled them out of context or altered them), it does seem Murrray's given up on Gilroy (otherwise I can't think of who the third D we lost is) and while Winchester is 'healthy' now, we'd need to make a trade to open a spot to him. Guessing he'll at least get a training camp invite if not signed elsewhere by then. Be one of those 'good faith' gestures, so that maybe another team even might see him to grab him as he'd be able to prove he's back to regular health.

I'm a little surprised Gilroy is not being re-signed, the Sens could use another right shot offensive defenceman who had 18 pts last yr & I would have thought perfect for Maclean's system. I assume that Lundin can play the right side but as it stands now Ottawa only has one legit right shot defenceman (Karlsson) & Gonchar who shoots left but prefers to play on the right.
