Cheap (and designed) to replace. They won't last the life of the skate, which is why they're so cheap and easy to replace.

I know a guy who gives em a periodic squirt of "moov-it" spray lubricant (think heavier duty WD-40) but personally I'd be worried about that breaking down plastics/composites - which are way costlier than a rivet.
