Somehow I see Doan going into Torts training camp grind and doing alright. I expect he's going to be not only fit but prepared because everything about him is professional. If he can get 40 some points at $4 mil cap hit it's not terrible. I'd be leery going more than two years.

But we should also remember other 'granddads'--Jagr, Straka, Prospal--sometimes it pays off and Doan is still a guy where it's a decent bet it will pay off. He's a power type forward who basically plays a simple game. He has good skills but he's not going to do fancy when he can use brute force. That fits better for the Eastern conference than the Western.
