Got for first league game of our summer league this evening. I'm nervous. It'll be the first time I've played organized "competitive" hockey since I was 6.

I put competitive in quotes because its designed as a fun league for all levels. There are going to be some beginners at a lower level than me - but plenty of very good players (ex Jr. A, etc). The good news is they've instituted a "Gretzky rule" - you can score three goals, but after that your goals are disallowed and given to the other team. Helps discourage the best players from running up the scores - and encourages those players to set up the weaker players instead. No limit on assists!

Anyways, looking forward to it. Anxious too. I just have to remember: play positionally sound, keep it simple, carry the puck instead of getting rid of it right away when possible, and keep my feet moving.
