The funniest thing about this is that there was a similar debate with the trailer for LotR: The Two Towers, which used the "Requiem for a Dream Song" (Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell) in its trailer.

I liked the Man of Steel trailer. A lot. It was very different; I had zero problem with the "Gandalf song". I love the direction they're seemingly taking Superman. Hell, some of those shots from the trailer looked almost Malickian. If Snyder is going THAT route to flesh out Kal-El's childhood, then I'm stoked.

Anyway, no problems with the trailer. You couldn't even tell it was a superhero film until "Man of Steel" was emblazoned on the screen.
