Lundqvist, for example, goes back to Sweden only for about 2-3 weeks during the off-season. Usually right after the team gets eliminated from the playoffs. Then he comes back to NYC. I think most guys while they do travel home to see family, stay in New York during the off-season to work out in Tarrytown.

Although there are exceptions like Del Zotto who goes back home to Ontario and trains. His mom's chicken parm is just too good for him to stay in New York
