My concern isn't what happens if a prospect pushes someone out... my concern is what if the prospects DON'T come through. JR has been laser-focused on acquiring forwards this summer, and while I certainly understand that, I wonder if he shouldn't be equally aggressive about chasing a top-4 defenseman. Because as stated above, all of these guys are on nice contracts individually but as a group they are not nearly good enough.
Very true. Hopefully Faulk and McBain continue to improve, but JR needs to keep focused on Trades and UFAs to improve defense. Adding 1 "Marc Staal" type along with continued improvement with McBain and Faulk could drastically change the make-up of the defense.
