I understand your thinking, I just don't see enough in that clip to disregard the actual player saying "no, I wasn't injured." I thought Torts threw that line out there to mitigate some of the things he had said just prior (that Callahan hadn't been playing well, that he hadn't had a lot of post-season experience, etc). He didn't want it to seem like he was throwing his player (and captain) under a bus.
Like I said initially--I think Cally's playoff struggles were primarily due to fatigue, not meshing with his line-mates (his best hockey came when he was playing with familiar line-mates--Dubi and AA), and (most importantly IMO) trying to do too much himself, especially after Gaborik got hurt.
