I like that they signed him for 4 yrs but don't like the $ part. When you look at what a better (or just as good at worst) player like Perron is getting for similar term then you wonder why he gets 4 M+. Normally you wouldn't care about him getting $3 M or $4.25 M but the Flyers have other young guys who are gonna need raises within the next couple yrs so the contracts need to be more on the bargain side even with the $ leaving their books. If we're assuming that he's being paid that amt because of potential to hit 60 pts with Giroux then we're basing that off of an assumption? Especially for an RFA who often are bargains and it doesn't buy contract yrs. Flyers needed to be a bit more frugal with this one.
