My area is really wooded so anytime there is a storm we loose power. Which is why I have a back-up 17kw generator that runs off my 500gal propane tank. Easily powers my house, including AC. Automatic transfer switch. In the summer when I'm not using gas for heat, it would last me about 11 days. It's rather awesome.
