No and no. He is not at all tradeable, he'd be on the first flight out of Montreal if that was the case. Nobody wants him. Teams can actually sign productive players for the same cap hit, there is no reason for anyone to take on a player that scores a goal every year.

I don't think they're waiting on the current CBA either, there's either compliance buyouts or not. Doesn't change anything by waiting. The habs can go 10% over the cap in the offseason. That's basically Gomez entire salary.

They are keeping him because it makes the most sense fiscally for a team that just finished 3rd last. Burying him, buying him out ect isn't even being consider imo.
