There has been a very big improvement in the quality of the team without running up the cap. Slats was able to do it by getting rid of highly paid crap (WW, 'fro) while making good trades/signings.

That said, we need to acquire more depth. Who will play when 2-3 guys are out at the same time?
We really need defenseman depth. Who at Ct can hold the fort other than McIrath? Can't bring up Redden. Part left? Versace?

As far as forward depth, we could bring up Newberry, Bourque! Hrivik, hogan or Miller. It's the defenseman depth that worries me.

I would like to bring in a couple of vets for tryouts. These guys would have to be willing to accept 2 way deal.
