Twins will always do *decent* at the ticket market because they are the only thing going on in the summer and some people will always want to go out and watch a baseball game on a nice summer day or night, but eventually, with all the moves going around with the Wild signing Parise and Suter, and the Wolves at least trying to put something together, the Twins ticket will not be valuable.
The Twins have some pieces to work with, but their pitching is just atrocious. I don't know how they're going to fix it, but they must do something to get some real pitchers in here. They haven't had a top of the rotation guy since Santana (although Liriano looked like it in 2010), but from the sounds of it, Morneau could be traded. The thing is now with where we are at, we have to ask the world for the likes of Span, Morneau, and Willingham. And they should. They're in a position to just wait it out. I hope Ryan is able to capitalize on a small market of "sellers" and is able to get some value out of Span and Morneau (if they are indeed traded).
As far as the Liriano trade goes, Ryan has been quoted as much as saying that they took the best deal on the table. The reality is that obviously Liriano didn't have as much value as some people thought, and hopefully these guys can help out the big league club a bit. I mean, if Escobar is a replacement for Casilla and saves you a mil or so, that's worth it ONLY IF you spend that money to acquire something of need (like a top flight pitcher).
