Actually, if I'm not mistaken, with him heading to the NCAA, the loophole is eliminated.
If he had gone to Dubuque, he actually would have had the opportunity to pull a Schultz (if the new CBA doesn't fix this, which I imagine it will).
So, now with him going to Providence, we need not worry about him ditching us.
Also, he can leave college and sign an ELC with the Flames any time he wants. He doesn't have to complete all 4 years. Though I do imagine unless he shows great progress, he'll be there for at least 3 years.
