Another subject I find interesting is the finding of the Higgs Boson. I've been watching Youtube videos on the standard model ever since (when I find time), trying to find the most comprehensive videos.
It's been exciting for science lately. Apparently Neutrinos were found travelling faster than the speed of light and apparently bacteria were found to replace phosphorous with arsenic in it's DNA. Both are actively being refuted however.

I am pretty sure I read about the Neutrinos being tested in the same way again, and they were unable to duplicate the results.
The Higgs is indeed very exciting. Opens up a lot of possibilities for new testing as well.
