Are we pretty much worse after this offseason compared to last offseason?

yes we are worse.
not sure why people aren't including Pronger among the losses either. afterall, he was part of the opening day roster last year and was lost during the season. are we comparing the team as it was from the start of last season or from the end of last season? regardless, Pronger still hasn't been fully replaced.
if we look at the opening day roster from last fall, we've lost Pronger and Carle and added L.Schenn and Grossmann on D. that's a major downgrade. the team lost it's best two puck moving Dmen and replaced them with defensive Dmen. our best puck mover now is probably Kimo and he's almost done. the team desperately needs a real puck mover on the back end. someone to quarterback the PP. cause this team doesn't really have one right now.
up front we've lost Jagr and JVR and only added Fedotenko. another big downgrade. okay so JVR didn't play much last year, lets assume Feds equals his production. who replaces Jagr's points? the team could really use another top 6 forward.
this team (right now) is definitely worse off on offense and defense from last year. hopefully Homer still has some moves up his sleeve. signing Doan would be a good start.
