JBo is the fall back option for the Wings.
Ericsson is the only proven defense-first guy the Wings have right now. Let me educate you: Kronwall is good, but likes to pinch in for opportunities and big hits. White is a good complementary defensemen to someone like Lidstrom or a player who can eat minutes(Quincey), but is pretty average in a lot of respects. Quincey eats minutes and was just signed. Smith is a rookie. Kindl can't stay up in the lineup, is basically the seventh man.
This trade would never happen because the Wings also just signed Tootoo, if your team wanted him, they should have picked him up in FA.
