At this point, I don't think so. To be a Vezina contender you must perform (IMO) like a top 5 goalie, and that as of now, Aebischer is not.

He's been good enough to get the job done and put up wins, but as others have alluded to, he hasn't stolen a game yet, and his numbers are merely "good" in an era where great numbers are required to become a Vezina calibre goalie.

If he wants to be considered a Vezina candidate, then maybe he should stop leaving the crease. As the season progresses, if he doesn't fix this, teams will easily exploit his ability to get lost and inversely his inability to get back into position. Gawd, it seems like every time he comes forward a bit to challenge a shooter he slides out 5 extra feet only to spend an extra few seconds trying to recover.
