As much as I'd love to see Doan in teal, I'm just as glad to know that DW wouldn't be dumb enough to give him $30 million for four years and that the highest DW would go is $4.5 million a season for a three year contract. Don't get me wrong Doan is a good player, he's a great leader, a veteran and would definitely add some much needed firepower to our team but I do not think he's worth $30 million for four years. He only put up 50 points last season and sure he could potentially put up 60+, but is it worth risking $30 million for four years on him when he's 35 years old? I think not.

So the way I see it is if we say no to Doan, then which of these FA forwards do we go after? http://capgeek.com/free_agents.php?y...F&fa_type_id=2

Maybe Andrei Kostitsyn, Eric Fehr, Kristian Huselius? I don't know. Maybe DW may have waited too long, but hopefully he does have a big plan up his sleeve to make a big trade or something. I think we all know why a lot of GM's have stopped making big moves these past few weeks because of the CBA bargaining but after/when that's done, what's DW's next move? Hopefully something big because something tells me that our new assistant coaches Jim Johnson and Larry Robinson (as good as they may be), Adam Burish and Brad Stuart won't solve all our problems.
I've been interested in Kostitsyn for awhile. He could be a great 7th fwd with spot duty on Thornton's line as an F1. A 1 or 2 year deal for around $3.5-3.75m per should do it.
