Solid fall back strategy. I have a couple friends in both streams.
The toughest courses for me were fluid mechanics and statics and dynamics (although I think they changed the class to just dynamics).
Linear algebra was a definite break from the other classes, as it has the smallest workload.
One tip is to work with your peers and study with them. It'll definitely help you get through the year.
