(I married at 41), prior to Czech Republic joining the EU. That first time, I was crossing one of the pedestrian bridges when I ran into Vaclav Havel, being interviewed by a hot female journalist, and protected by two very large bodyguards.
I was there twice, in 2001 and 2011. I don't speak Czech but I took the trouble to learn the pronunciation. The public address announcer gets Plekanec right, unpopular as his way of saying it is with the Bell Centre crowd. I took in much of the city. It was fun getting lost and coming upon interesting old cobblestoned streets. Prague was fortunate in not being heavily bombed in World War II. Oh yes, Havel was reputed to be a lady's man. I assume your encounter with him was on the Karlovy Most (Charles Bridge).
