I actually thought Wilson played better defensively as a center than he has as a winger. It's a big difference. As a center you're coming back down low to help out where his size can be more of a bonus. You're assisting the d-men and covering another forward instead of staying near the point to cover one of their d-men. I think that fits Wilson's skill set better. And he would give the team some more size up the middle, too. He's a fairly large guy. Not huge by NHL standards, but big.
