But that isn't an apples to apples comparison, that's after trades and injuries brought down the team's forward depth.
This time last year 10-12th forwards (4th line) in a healthy lineup were Moen, Darche and Nokialainen. Or Moen/Darche, Eller/Desharnais, White if all three of Gomez, Eller and Desharnais were playing at center.
Right now we are talking about Prust/Armstrong-Nokialainen-White as the 4th line. That isn't really an improvement over Moen-Nokialainen-Darche. If anything its worse.
And a 3rd line based around two or three of Eller, Desharnais and Kostitsyn is better than Eller + two of Leblanc, Armstrong, Moen, Prust etc. Overall the bottom six isn't better than last years, only better than what it was at the end of last year. Changing Cammalleri, Kostitsyn and Darche for Bourque, Armstrong and Prust makes the team worse than it was to start last year, even if it does look more like a stereotypical bottom six with more size and toughness.
I can't believe it. Someone else actually recognizes that we're not a better team?!
Prust will help us though. Just not enough to win games but my hope is that his presence sparks Moen and the whole team to man up as a unit.
