Yeah, that would be the cochlear implant, an invasive operation putting a microphone inside your ear, and putting magnets under your skin. Im sure it works very well for those who have successfully adapted to the technology, but I will always believe Language is more important than hearing sounds, more specifically, ASL, american sign language, a visual language.
Either way, I hope to find some deaf hockey players on HF, even if by a long shot.
