That pretty much sums up my opinion as well. However, I'm not going to say that Esche is a better playoff goalie than regular season goalie based on one playoff run.

Honestly, the way Niittymaki played at the end of the season, I don't have a lot of confidence in either goalie. As others have said, Esche gives up so many big rebounds for my liking. Niittymaki just doesn't seem to have the same level of confidence that he had earlier in the season and during the Olympic run. Perhaps he is fatigued due to how much he has played this season? is offline   Reply With Quote
