I don't know how old you are but historically, you can take away a guy if you have to. Esp. if there is only one guy that you just can't let beat you. I've sen it happen to Hull,Orr and many others.
With Koivu out, the line's out of sync, Ryder and Higgins don't get the puck when they expect it,and they weren't a threat. The canes just made up their minds to deny Kovy the puck or close 2 men on him. They didn't have an answer for that.
My thing with Ribs is that he seems to have learned that he can't always make the nice plays every game,but he can make sure he at least plays his guy even, but I saw glimpses of the old player tonight. unlike the thread starter I wouldn't banish him to the Verdun Dragons though.
