In any case, Ribeiro did have a rough game. Seemed to me the Canes were taking special note of where Ribeiro was on the ice and giving him as little time as possible to read and react to plays. Whenever he touched the puck, a Carolina player was closing in on him fast.
I don't know if he just had serious issues adjusting to this new Carolina special-attention & general defensive scheme, or if he had an off-night. Guess we'll see on Sunday.
I think getting behind may have taken him from his comfort zone a bit. Knowing he's needed more offensively, I think maybe he tries to force plays that may not be there. Honestly though, and it's hard for a fan to admit it, it's often what the other team does, more than what you do.
