Since All-star break, the Angels have been behaving oddly. With Scott Downs and Frieri looking invincible along with Weaver and CJ Wilson pitching well, the Angels have been winning because of very good pitching and a shutdown bullpen before All-Star break. Then with the Greinke, one would think the pitching staff is what will pull the Angels into the playoffs.

Yet all is amiss. The pitching has gone AWOL. The starting rotation has given up large leads and it's Santana that's pitching okay. The bullpen has blown so many saves and Frieri is no longer that sharp pitcher we once knew. It would seem impossible to maintain a 0.00 ERA, but not to deviate so much so like Frieri has. It's the hitting that's keeping this team in contention. It's Mike Trout hustling to get that extra base and the coaches that keep encouraging to run, run, run.

If the Angels want to make the playoffs this season, then they're going to have to pull off a ridiculous streak of wins similar to that of latter half of the first part of the season. And should that occur, then the Angels will be rolling into the playoffs with momentum!
