#1 enough meddling with the lines. Every two games these guys have two new linemates to get used to. And if those lines don't put up numbers like a bingo caller on meth, he changes them again two games later. The biggest sufferers of this have been Isbister, Chimera and Hemsky.

#2 get some more speed and sure hands on the penalty kill. Guys get the puck, panic and it doesn't get out. And since the Oilers defensive system from all appearances is simply running all over the place, might as well get players out who can get to guy who had the puck a little faster.

#3 change the defensive zone system. It is so painfully obvious that whatever system it is does not suit the personnel on the ice, yet McT seems determined to fit round peg A into square hole B. You can keep the forwards aggressive but the defensemen should shift to a zone and worry more about cutting of passing lanes and watching the guys without the puck in front of the net, then mucking with a guy with the puck behind it.
Real good post.

Isbister, Hemsky and Chimera have been bounced a fair bit. Then there's all the controversy of where Smyth should be playing.

Fact is the Oilers are having trouble plugging the holes from injury and departures. Niinimaa, Marchant, Reasoner and former #1 centerman known as Comrie. This makes many a coach bounce players around.

But when you have a coach that has already been doing it for a few years becomes insufferable.
