A guy who gets clipped in the face may end up being "injured" (i.e. an eye injury, broken orbital bone) or he may be back after 15 minutes of getting stitches in the dressing room. The officials are not equiped to make that kind of decision, you'd end up never having the "injury" call made for fear of it being the wrong call.
Either way I would like a 10 min misconduct if their's blood. And a 10 min game misconduct if it's REALLY bad.
