I think what says it all is that Ribeiro and Plekanec were more dangerous with Koivu in the lineup than they are with him out of the lineup. With Koivu out of the lineup, Ribeiro's been bad. Plekanec's been good, but only on the fundamental-level of good; not a threat offensively.

Don't forget: Ward was in nets for three goals in Game Two. He isn't unbeatable.

Montreal was also carrying Game Three, until the last stretch--after Koivu was out.

BTW, for all of Brind'Amour's great work on Koivu in the first couple of games, he's been far stronger and more noticeable offensively since Koivu's injury. Not a coincidence, methinks.
