The NHL and KHL recently signed a reciprocal agreement to respect contracts. Since the league isn't theoretically locked out until mid-Sept, how can a KHL team at this time enter into even preliminary discussions with the agent of an NHL player that is currently employed under an NHL contract? Is that not the definition of tampering?
