It needs to be said that Schultz is considered a very well rounded player. Just because his offense lead to the hype doesn't mean the defense is lacking. The guy won best defensive player of the year award in college two years running. He's considered to have a very solid defensive game. Good enough that he would probably be an NHLer without the possible elite offense. I'd argue both players share similar ceilings as top pairing two way defenseman. Schultz has the ede on offense and Klefbom the edge on defense.
