The only reasons you guys want that is because the Habs were the victims in that case.
A few years back people were saying similar things about knee on keen hits, (i.e. he missed a check or he didn't mean to hit him that low etc... etc.. ) and now players are being penalized/suspended for those type of collisions.
Link on the bold part? With the way the game has changed in terms of obstruction it seems that high sticks are becoming more frequent (seems possible if not likely that injuries from high sticks will rise as a result).
Oh and I call BS on the last sentence part, because it was Koivu who was injured Hab fans can't have an opinion on what punishment high sticks deserve?
