My son just played in a tourney for 15u aaa and 16u aaa. There were 10 teams in the 15 u and 15 in the 16u. 17 out of 25 teams were out of town who required hotels. The rest were rochestoer or Buffalo area teams that still needed to eat. This brought in approx 425-450 families into Rochester.

This new rink can host 6-8 tourneys a year and can bring in a lot of money into the city. Just renting the ice out to local teams will bring people downtown. We have such a shortage of ice that the kids cannot get enough practices in and are at a disadvantage against out of area teams.

This is a big step forward for the city of Buffalo.
